Cape Reinga

Fly to the northern tip of the North Island – Cape Reinga on this visually spectacular day trip by helicopter.

Depart Heletranz Heliport and fly up the East Coast over beautiful sandy beaches to the Bay of Islands. View the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’, Cape Brett and Lighthouse before heading over the islands of the Bay.

Make a quick stop at Kerikeri Airport before continuing north – following the coastline to Matauri Bay, Doubtless Bay and Karikari Peninsula to the tip of the North Island – Cape Reinga to view the lighthouse and the meeting point of two oceans. Fly down the famous 90-Mile Beach on the West Coast of the North Island to land at either the Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Hokianga or Waipoua Lodge.

Experience a guided walk through the bush to visit our largest Kauri Tree and The Lord of the Forest – the giant and spiritual ‘God of the Forest’ Tane Mahuta thought to be approximately 2000 years old!

Optional lunch / afternoon tea is available at Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Hokianga or Waipoua Lodge (seasonally, subject to availability).

On your return to the Copthorne or Waipoua Lodge, re-board helicopter for the final leg of your journey over farmland to land at the Heletranz Heliport.
