Enjoy a scenic helicopter flight from Heletranz, Auckland over the North Shore and City, Eastern shoreline, Musick Point, Whitford Valley, Clevedon, Hunua Ranges, continuing south to the Waikato region to land near The Shires Rest Café in Matamata.

Your 2.5 hours tour starts from The Shires Rest with a drive through the picturesque 1,250-acre sheep farm with spectacular views across to the Kaimai Ranges. Your guide will escort you through the 10-acre site recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton set was created.

The Hobbit holes, Green Dragon Inn, Mill and other structures created for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films can be viewed and you will see how this beautiful piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle-Earth. Your tour ends at The Shires Rest™. You will have one hour pre or post Tour to visit The Store or Café for a refreshment, before you re-board your helicopter for the return flight to the Heletranz Heliport.
